G20 ministers drop anti protectionist pledge and climate change financing

G20, 미국 반대에 '보호주의 배격' 합의 실패... 기후변화도 누락
Finance ministers from the world's biggest economies, meeting in Germany, decided to drop a commitment to oppose protectionism... under apparent pressure from the United States.
The G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting concluded on Saturday in the German town of Baden-Baden.
Breaking a long tradition, there was no statement voicing the group's opposition to all forms of tariffs and rules favoring one economy over another in its joint communique.
Instead it contained only a bland reference to "working to strengthen the contribution of trade to our economies."
The communique also failed to include a single mention of climate change.
Just last year, at the G20 Summit in China,... all delegates agreed on working to bring the Paris Climate Accords into force, but that section was scuttled this time by the U.S.
