That's right, this week on 101 Facts we're talking about home. But not London or New York or Norwich, not even Earth - we're talking about the Solar System, all the intergalactic bits spanning around that big hunk of fire the sun in space. We get the low down on Mars; we explore Venus; we dig deep into Uranus. THIS is 101 Facts About The Solar System.

Fun Fact. The next planet in line after jupiter, is saturn. The distance between Jupiter and Saturn, is almost the exact distance between Jupiter and the Sun. That's a long ways

I still remember, 20 years later, In first grade, I marked Venus as the hottest planet in the solar system. The teacher marked it wrong trying to say “lol of course it’s Mercury, it’s the closest silly!”

And I was like “yes but the greenhouse effect and-“

“Oh sure sure haha, hey you got every other question right!”

You mispronounced two of Jupiter's moons. One of them was Io, which you pronounced as Lo. The other was Callisto, which you pronounced as Castillo

Hi Sam. I really don’t think that the solar system is over 100 ly across. Wikipedia says that it is much much smaller than that. It is even smaller than one light year

1:20 - 1:30.. There’s no way our solar system is 1500 light years across? Who did this math?!

4:06 This one is kinda interesting because the sun is hot...

It's interesting because it gets as hot as 27 million degrees Fahrenheit in the sun's core. The energy travels outward through a large area called the convective zone. Then it travels onward to the photosphere, where it emits heat, charged particles, and light.

Very interesting fact indeed. 🍷🗿

Pluto may be a dwarf planet but a planet, nonetheless.

Many people have been asking me Space questions (Cause I'm the 'space nerd' of my friends and family) that I couldn't figure out an answer for. These were the questions:

Why is Uranus sideways?
Where did the Fifth Giant (Which is a commonly theorized planet) go?
Why is Neptune so much farther away?
Why can't we find the 9th planet yet?

So I suddenly had the idea to answer all of those questions with one theory, which I will now call: *The 9th Migration theory.*

It all begins with the Solar System, when it had 9 planets:
Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, 5th Giant, Uranus, Neptune.

Everything was fine, until suddenly, 5th Giant collided with Uranus, causing Uranus to flip on it's side, and 5th Giant to fly towards Jupiter. The intense gravity on Jupiter caused 5th Giant to fly away from the Solar System, collide with Neptune, and both of those planets to migrate far away from the Sun. Neptune is still visible, and the 5th Giant is missing.
The 9th planet is theorized to be between the sizes of Saturn and Neptune, and very far away, so I think that the 5th Giant IS THE 9TH PLANET, AND WE ALWAYS HAD 9 PLANETS!!!

And that, my friends, is *The 9th Migration theory.*

Pluto's largest moon is called "Charon" (pronounced "Sharon"), not "Karen".

There is also a theory that there was a planet between Mars and Jupiter, which blew up, thus forming the asteroid belt.
