last year I set up and outdoor turtle pond for my spotted turtles, its unfiltered and in the height of summer it was full of mosquito larvae so I was doing some research on small fish that could live outdoors in the UK and wouldnt compete with my turtles or cause the water to get to messy like goldfish. I found this video and then purchased 12 white clouds. They started chowing on the larvae almost instantly. During the summer the water reached the mid 80's and the pond froze over on many occasions this winter. I hadn't seen any all winter long, but a few days ago I was removing some plants and low and behold there they where looking fine!! I do not feed them at all either so I am very happy to see them still going!

They are a seriously underated fish in the hobby. Personally, I love them in all forms.

I just watched the video eating breakfast in my dining room. Next to my table is my 75 planted with White Clouds

I 100% agree. In fact, these fish are the only fish to survive me starting out in the hobby. All my other fish died. These lived and are still living a long time after I learned the how aquariums work. Even if you are a complete failure, this fish will probably live.

100% agree. I have had my white clouds since day 1 of fish keeping (2 years now), they are still alive, very much active and colourful. They have been through every mistake I have made (fish in cycle etc.) Very easy to care for and are beautiful.

This is correct, I must have had nearly every type of fish under the sun but the mountain minnow always came out on top in every way. They are cute little friendly guys and I love the way they dance and bounce rather than swim. I can't even recall many that died, you have to pass them on if you no longer want them because they just wont die, I love their colours to, number one fish with no hassle at all. They soon get to know their owner and they love to show it, look no further folks!.

Love my first white clouds, sold as tiny cheap feeders. Some are with a betta boy in a planted 5 gallon, others with shubunkin in an unheated tub. My fancy long-fin white clouds were purchased from the Co-op in September, hung out with plants in a bin during the rest of my vacation, traveled hundreds of miles home, and are still thriving!

Just coming back after 3 years to say that this video convinced me to get mine, somehow 3 of my originals are still alive past their lifespan kept in my 7 gallon tank. They’re bulletproof. Just make sure you have a lid, one of mine jumped out and passed away while I wasn’t home.

Love them white cloud mountain minnows, especially in a highly planted tank. The only non-livebearer that I purposely breed. I enjoy the neon blue color of the young fry swimming amongst the plants. Added bonus that the adults don't predate on the fry. Thanks for promoting a wonderful and easy little fish that some of us old timers still keep. Cheers.

Corey thank you for showcasing the White Cloud minnows they are one of my favorite fish and I have been in the hobby for over 30 years now. I started putting them outside last year and love how their colors really pop! Thank you for all you're doing for the hobby :-)

I am new to the hobby and cannot get enough information. Your channel is absolutely my favorite. I love how relaxed you are. I feel like i'm being scolded watching other videos even if the information is not related to my setup in anyway. Thanks for being non-aggressive (bad fish humor).

I haven't kept these since the 1970s. Creating a hillstream tank with these in the very near future. Long fin WCMM here I come!

I would love to set up my first cold water tank with long fin WCMMs!

I bought 7 of these a while back thinking they’ll be nice to fill in the space, not realising how great they interact and their behaviour. Especially when the light comes on, water change or feeding time. Love them. I have regular white mountain minnow.

Fun fact: They’re actually known from the carp family, not actually true minnows, and they can survive as cold as 5•C

I absolutely love these fish! My favorite thing about them is watching them spar and show off their fins, which is part of the reason why I'm a huge fan of the long finned variety! 😀

Great little fish, raised several this summer in a stock tank pond, now enjoying them schooling in my 125 long, no heater, just a few sponge filters

I bought 12 yesterday for my planted 40 gallon. They really seem to enjoy darting in and out of the filters outlet flow!
