How to Connect to WiFi on Windows 8

This tutorial will show you how to connect to Wi-Fi.

In this tutorial, you'll learn how to connect to wifi on Windows 8.

Step # 1 -- Opening up Control Panel

First, move your mouse to the bottom-right corner of the screen, several options should appear on the right-hand side of the screen. Move your mouse up and click on the magnifying glass that says "Search". Type in "Control" and open up "Control Panel".

Step # 2 -- Enabling the Wireless Adapter

Click on the "Network and Internet" tab, and then click on "Network and Sharing Center". Now, on the left side panel, click on "Change adapter settings", look for something called "Wi-Fi" or "Wireless Adapter", if it is disabled, right-click it and click "Enable".

Step # 3 -- Connecting to a Wi-Fi Network

Close out of the "Network Connections", click the back arrow in "Network and Sharing Center", then under that same "Network and Sharing Center" tab, and click on "Connect to a network". A side panel should appear on the right of your screen listing the available wireless networks, find the one you're trying to connect to and double-click it. If it requires a password, you will type that in now and that is how to connect to wifi on Windows 8.

Just download wifi driver specific to your device and copy to you device and just install it. It works 100%

i just setup windows 8 and i wasnt sure how to connect to wifi... i tried installing a wireless network driver but that didnt work. i tried the way you said but i couldnt find the wifi tab. theres just an ethernet tab thats enabled...

I have new computer but I couldn't find the WiFi bit

This will not help you if the image your running is obsolite. That means the manufacturer want's you to buy a new computer or Laptop by disableing the use of the internet functions after the computer get to around 7 years. Before in this situation you could just download Google Chrome on a usb stick on a good computer and stick it into the non working computer and use the browser to get the internet up but now they are completely blocking internet even after logging on to your router and joining your network. The only solution is to do a new install with a stand alone copy of windows 8. Completely delet the poartitions on the hard drive and reinstall Windows 8. Then upgrade to windows 10 if the drivers support it.
