I did my 3 hour run (18 miles} last weekend. Hoping for under 4:15 in a couple of weeks which will be a PB if the plan comes together.

Good luck with the rest of your training Chris, you'll get there!

Forge ahead Chris! I can only dream of running a 20 miler at this point but by next year my 1st marathon is on the radar. Really enjoying my Fordy hat and shirt on my daily runs.

My garmin has been all over the place. I feel like my runs have been really hard but watch pace saying 7.20km but when it uploads (or is it downloads??) it’s in the 5min kms. Finding it really hard to get my pace right! I’m just ignoring it now! Got my first 50k ultra in October - just aiming to finish trying not to walk if I can avoid it! Great video - love how you’re so honest about feeling meh about runs too! 👏🏻

It's really good to know you guys suffer on big runs too. I had a mare on my 16 Miler today. All miles in the tank 👍 xx

Have similar issues with GPS especially when running near work. It says I.am running 8.30km and I know I am running more like 6. Struggling with marathon training. I have virtually decided I am not going for a pace now as have had issues with knee at around 15 miles for last 2 weeks. That said I think I now have my fuelling sorted. Loving Active Root plus also Maurten gels.

Switch over to km's - makes the long run easier (though nothing actually changes), I find it ticks of the distance markers easier. Maybe just me.

Good timing! Just come back from my longest run so far of this training cycle (31km) Not too bad, though my Garmin did the same as yours and said I did km 7 at 1m30! Which was annoying.

Couple of cheat short walks in the last km 😕

Haha fordy you were certainly cream cracked at the end...well done though...your conditions and trails look tuff...where I run it's fairly simple and good roads and paths mainly...but we get hot and humid where u live...gold coast Australia...enjoy your blog geezer from another Crazy runner...

I ran 3:45:30 at Dorney Lake in April and the course was slightly long (26.39 miles) Average pace was 8:33 per mile. 👍👍

How do you spend the rest of the day after a run like this? Any recovery tips?

Assume you’re then back at work the next day. I almost feel like I have a hangover the day after runs like this.

My marathon training got behind as well, thanks to some life events out of my control.

Think i need to start running some different routes, I always run the same place. It's pretty nice but does get repetitive.
