I always remember how when the game launched, the prompt said something like "Awww yeah, press E to take Jet Gun!" but once they realized that everyone hated it, they just changed it to "Hold E for Jet Gun." I honestly can't believe they thought this weapon was even acceptable

They were probably thinking: "Wow, this thing is stupidly overpowered without any huge drawbacks. Probably best to make it possible to break if you use it too much as that makes it more balanced."
Seriously, check it out on plutonium, or MrTLexify's Tranzit round 100 video that he did on plutonium (or using a mod, idk which) that made the Jet Gun unable to explode or overheat and no denizens or fog. It is ridiculously OP
Probably would've been best to give it a long cooldown instead of breaking tho

I honestly think that the jetgun would have been an acceptable wonder weapon if the parts didn't disappear shortly after you break it and if it cooled down *slightly* quicker. Especially since it doesn't take up an actual weapon slot, I kinda like the idea of it being a tool that's useful in short bursts and not a primary overpowered wonder weapon.

fun fact to y'all: there was an idea that was scrapped so that, when you pack-a-punched the jet gun, the gun would never break and you were able to use it whenever you'd like and whenever you want

If only this gun was like the Flamethrower of WaW, like, instead of being destroyed when overheated it just needs to cooldown

If it just didn't explode, this could legitimately be one of the best Wonder Weapons in CoD Zombies history. Keep the overheating element, you're already wielding infinite damage; so it would be a nice trade-off. Maybe buff the cooldown time a bit too.

But as is, it now just goes down in infamy.

Me and my brother got into a lobby with a hacker a year ago on transit. I asked him for a raygun mark 2 and my brother asked him for a jet gun. He gave it to us and that jet gun went out so fast and then my brother said this ain't as good as I remember. The hacker said it never was then he jumps cared us till we ran into a bunch of zombies and the game ended.

LMAOOOO I was waiting for the thumbnail to load and I read the title, so I thought "lemme guess, tranzit?" Thumbnail loaded and I'm immediately greeted with the jetgun. My next guess would have been somthing in black ops 4 zombies.

If you just hold it in your hands, the meter slowly goes down. It’s possible to use it without ever breaking it

i mean even though the weapon itself is garbage, i get the idea they had... being this was an unexpected post-apocalyptic world those 4 characters were living in, it was reminiscent of something out of walking dead or last of us: having to scavenge and forage for items and creating makeshift weapons that are functional, but not all that durable.

When I was about 14 i found out about this and it took me many tries to build it. When the day finally came that I built it, I was so excited lol. I took it and instantly overloaded it. Im 20 now and havent played tranzit since.

I never bothered making it when it was hyped up on launch. To much work. The spots where you find the jet gun parts was cooler than the gun itself. I used to love training in the tunnel where the first part was.
