The reason for the volume and power button placement is structural integrity. Since this is a plastic frame they had to make sure the centre part remains strong. Because a photo bends from centre.

I am a Motorola fan and also a stock android fan. I brought Motorola e40 a few days ago and was surprised to see the ready for pc feature in it. I thought it was only available in flagship phones. And seeing movies on big screen feels

GG3 is actually more scratch resistant than GG5. While GG5 is more shatter resistant.
So as front panel is more prone to scratch than the back, motorola went with GG3 on the front and GG5 on the back.
I don't know, just my guess that's all.

Even if Moto provides Fast 3 yearly OS update & monthly 4 year security updates, then it will be very hard to beat Moto in this range. They already have a big USP compared to other chinese brands i.e Stock Android.
