As a Hungarian I have to say that the team improved a lot. The '16 3-3 with Portugal was a miracle, today there would be more chance to see a result like that, but the squad still lacks real depth. A 2nd or 3rd place group finish is realistic but if anything happens to key players like Kerkez, Orban or (ofc) Szoboszlai the team is going to be in trouble. The largest problem imo is the mentality of the team. Looking at the last two friendlies it really depends on the day how the players do. I would say Hungary is closest to a grayish-dark horse. If the day is given and everyone is in top shape they can win against (maybe even dominate) better teams but on others a goal conceded from Spain/France/etc. could fold them like a piece of paper.

I think Croatia will win this one. It’s Modric’s final run. A man who has everything on the line with a young and talented team. If it’s not Croatia, then surely The Dutch, or France (I see Hungary being a dark horse, I see England, Denmark, Spain, Belgium and Italy along with Portugal flopping). I also think Georgia will go to RO16, Germany will go far, but just lose out. Imo it’s between Germany, France, Netherlands and Croatia
