I partially agree with the 3rd point, deliver more. An employee would genuinely deliver more if he/she is being appreciated or the value being added to the team is being recognized. But always delivering more in other cases could also lead to assigning more tasks to that particular employee. This happens especially if the other members of the team are not that proactive and the manager/lead finds this employee only to be working hard, so assigns more and more.

I am working as a QA with 5 years experience, having multiple projects exposure and domain as well. Having knowledge of API, Jmeter, Selenium, Java but not on advance level. However i am trying to get into automation but they need more experience. Even though having a decent amount of experience i am unable to get a good change. And top of that notice period is a big problem.

I wish I had known this 5 years ago. For 5 years I mostly worked with just one project with only manual testing. Though I did some small projects on the side but all of them were just in one domain.

Result: After I got lay off due to project end I didn't get any offer for months. And now I have to join a smaller company with some pay cut.

I swear I will learn more skills now. I didn't even knew QA is this vast. And will change company every year.

One more suggestion: Agar company switch karna ho aur hike milne me 3-4 month bache ho to hike leke hi switch karna bhale 4-5% hi mile hike. Ye mat sochna ki hike se jyada to increment mil raha hai switch pe. Kyuki jyadatar dec se march me join karne wale ko next year hike milega yani 1 year ka hike skip.
