The Overmind created Infested Kerrigan to have free will, free will to do whatever she pleased and hopefully steer the Zerg in a different direction, but all she ever did as use the Zerg as her own personal army to achieve her own selfish ambitions. The Overmind was a better leader, but it simply couldn't resist its programming.

the overmind was brainwashed by an even larger being like the xel'naga or the hybrids or whatever to make the protoss dead, but the over mind tried to make the queen of blades to save the universe, but now shes killing everything.

If you go with the book story; Dark Voice, the incarnation of the void, is the one responsible for the creation of Maar, the taint of the hybrids and the destruction of the first overmind.

He's supposed to be slain by a rogue faction of the dark templars long after zeratul is assassinated by the second kerrigan.

dude you do know that the overmind was good right? that he never wanted to destroy aihur only thats why he made kerrigan in the first place cause the hybrids were already controling him basicly every mission after kerrigan gets born in sc1 if your playing as zerg your not really doing what the overmind tells you. your doing what the hybrid want you to do through the overmind and by the time aihur was destroyed there was no overmind anymore thats why tassadarr sacrificed himself to kill him

@Gatecrusherify "That is a tale to be told another time." this means noone knows except people at Blizard. We'll have to wait for our next expansion to figure out anything.

But if you want my two cents, "I speak from the Beyond" which implies that it is a realm "beyond" our realm of existence, or possibly the "void" that Stalkers talk alot about. "I have never tasted death " is probably similar to the "ascension" for Stargate's Ancients where they exist as a pure form of energy.

@Gatecrusherify There is no "anyone" creating anything here. The concept of evolution involves living matter striving to achieve survival by out-competing others with advantages. The advantages are created by mutations, but mutations more often than not create disadvantages. Through eons of evolution, eventually only the most advantageous trait-bearing lifeforms reproduce, and become a different species.
Origin of life was from a premordial "soup" that differentiated, but in this case Xel'naga
