BMW Crank no start/Slow start issue.

Had this exact problem recently (slow starting, got worse the warmer the engine/more I drove it in the day/more times I start it in the day), it was the starter motor. It had some oil in it which I think burned it out. If you can also smell burning that's probably the issue. I wonder if this is a common problem with these BMW F30s, an oil leak in to the starter motor?

I have same problem only when car is warmed up and leaving it off for 15mins and then trying to turn in on. You think its a starter ? Make exatcly the same sound and only goes to ready

Hello there guys i have a 2021 g20 330i last week my check engine light came on, i haven’t had time to check it yet, but i want your guys’ opinions. Since the check engine light came on the car has a slight rough idle and when in the mornings it takes a long crank to start up plus whenever i get a low fuel light on the dash the car’s idle gets rougher than usual. It has 39, 000 miles, any suggestions??

I have had this exact issue for close to 6yrs now. Changed the battery. Checked all earth cables and did the negative jump terminal trick, all made no difference.

So now after seeing this video (which btw sounds so similar, I thought it was my car for a second!) and reading the comments above, I have just ordered a new starter motor. Really hope it works. If anyone has any advice or videos on fitting it, that would be much appreciated.

If it was the battery why does it start perfectly when its cold and not used for a few days then struggles to start after stopping at the motor way services after being driven 3 hours?

Does this happen when the car is hot or cold? Mine started doing it only when it's hot. From what I've read it could either be a bad starter or the ground for the starter. Have you figured it out yet?

Same problem changed starred motor battery same problem a year later, how to fix it burn the....

And after 1 hour when it gets cool then again it turns on.... Have any one idea how to fix that and what could be the problem

Bad ground strap. The one on the left side connected to the motor mount. E-Z fix. I should of recorded the swapped out. Remove front wheel and a few plastic pieces to access the bottom bolt. The upper part is a bit tricker. Much of that is done from up top of you have long arms. More feel than site. 2 hour job if you take it nice and slow.

My car does this and makes a high pitched sound from the engine bay. But when I shut the car completely off, get out, lock the doors and re enter the car starts normally with no though pitch sound. I thought it was the starter going

Av got a bmw f30 320D it’s a Bad Engine Earth 👍🏻not the Starter or Battery. To check it, Just use a jumper cable and connect the negative side only!!.Use chassis Negative how u would jump start ur car then connect it too your engine so to make a good ground, then try starting it.Work for me, have to buy new engine ground straps tho 👍🏻

Anybody have this issue but once it starts and you put it into gear the gas pedal doesn’t respond?

My does the same, it only happens when the engine is hot. I guess is the starter. Need to replace it 😂
