Today Jared tackles some issues on a vehicle many of you have noticed sitting in the background, a 1997 Lexus LX450. With missing body work, damaged frame rails, can he get it knocked back into shape and running? Will this return back to being the ultimate off roader, or is it just too far gone?

Just remember the most important part on an off roader is a light bar. Just having one is an instant 1000ft lbs of torque. A light bar to an off road vehicle is like speed stripes on a race car. Without a light bar its just a road car that can go off road.

I like David Fryburger's saying on Roadkill, don't get it right, just get it running, and go and enjoy it

Eric is good people! Met him at a local meet up with his Lotus. I was a little awkward because I felt like I knew him even though I'd never met him, so I greeted him like an old friend as a natural thing without even thinking about it. Luckily he didn't immediately run away from this crazy stranger and we had a good conversation. His brother is a good guy too!

I can appreciate the comment about watching not as skilled people learning as they go . I am a professional technician for a little over 32 years now . I love to see people getting interested in wrenching and learning new skills .

Following a big rig, or anything else, too closely can be problematic for the front of your vehicle.

Whoot whoot! Always an awesome day when Jared uploads! I’m excited to see the Land Cruiser. As you said it’s been in the background of a few videos and I was starting to wonder!

Rectangular tubing in the frame with holes to put tubing in can untorque a twist in a frame. You can jack on the tubing if need be. I know you didn’t need to, but for those that do.

Love to see more 80 series content out there! Everything on these things is always work fixing. Good save.

p.s. just did my oil pump cover and agree on the factory oring feeling "cheap".

I've been looking forward to seeing the old 80 series cruiser make an official appearance on the channel.
I have a 1992 1st generation 80 series over here in Australia, it has the old fashioned carburettor fed 3F 4 litre engine and paint fade almost exactly like that one 😂😂.
Love my landcruisers

I finally got a chance to watch you fix an 80 series Landcruiser, as an Australian we still have plenty on the road, but most of them I see are the 4.2L diesel, either N/A indirect injection 1HZ or turbo direct injection 1HD-t or 1HD-FT.
Anyway, we have some trouble finding parts, because so darn many are still on the road, and everyone wants to fix them instead of part them out.
Also kind of happy I don't see so many 1FZ-FE engines, the oil pump O ring leak seems to be quite common, and it's much less fun to do when all the parts in front of it actually exist.
