The Minister for Kampala Beti Kamya says the works minister will soon table amendments to the Traffic and Road Safety Act in parliament to help streamline public transport.

Kamya says the amendments have been brought in good faith and follow extensive consultation with the public.

One of the provisions in the draft bill forbids the private ownership of public service vehicles by individuals, who are not organized under companies or associations.

But leaders in transport sector have vowed to fight the bill, insisting that it is not held in good faith..

Transportation of any country is primarily the govt's responsibilty. So yes, they should be banned. And govt should be incharge of providing efficient transport. Individual owners can enter transport but under a different system. Not the current volongoto.
