So you're telling me there's a chance.

Hal and Lois have to be one of the best tv couples ever. No matter how often they argued over silly things, they never wavered in their commitment and love of each other.

That's brutally honest, but necessary. Lois is really a great character

Sad as it is, I've known people who genuinely need this. It's not spite, it's clarification, and this scene is really awesome for not just being limited to the scene's context but in general.

That was, all things considered, pretty nice. It's painful to speak these truths and painful to hear them, but Lois was basically giving Craig to will to finally move on.

The funniest part is right after. One of the robbers says "damn chubby you just got faced" hahaha

Lois was honest and direct. She didn't insult Craig. She just directly told him that it would never happen. At least that way, he could move on knowing there was no possibility of them being together. Clear is kind.

Lois told him exactly what he needed to hear instead of what he wanted to hear.

It's a really kind act. It's amazing how some people can't understand this.

The writing in this show is incredible. You will never find such conversations in modern tv-shows

I wish I had a smidge of the self-assuredness Lois has. She knows what to do in every scenario

Craig was unbearable before this episode because he was just a creep but afterwards he was actually funny and grew on me. He still acted like an ass occasionally but not nearly as bad as Craig pre this episode

I try to imagine my crush saying that to me because it’s for my own good.

Did anybody else catch that at the very end where Lois whispers "Sorry" as she's standing up? Most likely the actress apologizing for the injury she just caused haha!

I always wondered why this was admitted so early on in the series. Secrets like these in a tv show usually get built up until the end of a series. But overall, I like this scene, and I'm glad at the time in 2000, I recorded this episode, and good thing too since there never was a season 2 DVD release in the US.

I actually had a similar situation from this a few months before this episode premiered where a girl told me off about how she feels about me when she found out how I felt about her. That's probably the reason why I like this scene here because it felt relatable to me.

imagine working there and over hearing that

I would love to see more of this happen in anime and manga's when the main heroine/hero is already in love with someone and put their seriously rose-colored, delusional pursuer (stalker) in their place, putting an end to a ridiculous unnecessary love triangles that are utterly pointless.

What we have here is a prime example of Expectation vs Reality.
