A few years on and how are the bushes doing Pete? Can you do an updated review on your favourite brushes please?

I have been using my series S brushes a lot and I must say they still keep a point very well!

Thanks for posting this Pete! My experience with the M series was pretty disappointing, the brushes don't hold a point after only a month of light use. I'll be sticking with Winsor & Newton and Rafael 8404s.

Artis Opus released a series of brushes called S & M, yup my mind has been corrupted by the internet :P

The Opus M series looks a lot like the W&N S7 "Miniature" brushes, all of which I found to dry very fast compared to the regular versions. I'd eschew them in favour of the regular ones -- they can hold more paint with the same delicacy of brush point. Personally my "grail brush" is the Raphael 8404 series -- cheaper than series 7 and better quality to boot!

After a year if you still use them what do you think of them

I got a box yesterday, and the wooden box lid is completely warped and only closes in the middle, the ends are have gaps big enough to stick a small brush in there

Thanks Pete. This answered my questions and is framing some thoughts. Useful vid.

I haven’t been impressed with the brushes in the box (don’t keep a point and already spreading) but the single brushes I got as spares have been fine 🤔 I won’t be bothering again.

I'm looking into getting nice brushes and cleaner.

Where the hell do you find Masters brush cleaner in England for £6, I can only find Ebay RIP off resellers atm 😥

Artis Opus are very good brushes but not as good as Windsor & Newton series 7. They are still the King. I had one bad experience with an Artis Opus brushes and they very quickly replaced it.Good customer service. I would recommend the company and enjoy using the brushes. Very comfortable to hold, look fantastic and are a fun purchase for your collection

I was unimpressed by the Artis Opus series S. Going back to my Rosemary brushes.

Could you make tutorial how to paint polish 1939 infantry?

The right brush won't make you a better painter, very true, but the wrong brush absolutely can make you a worse one. My Amazon specials are great for big areas, but go ahead, try painting an eye with one, I dare ya lol

I got these on the Kickstarter, they aren’t too bad but certainly are not better than Windsor newton s7 and are very overpriced by comparison I’ve been using the 1 a fair bit and it’s still going pretty well (I haven’t used the expensive brushes on metallics though which kill brushes much quicker) The wooden case is cheap chintzy and very poor quality basically utterly worthless. I wouldn’t buy then again. Just stick with WN

Comparing them to the series 7? they are the series 7 my man. Just with a white handle, yes they literally are the series 7. WN produces these brushes for AO.

Da Vinci Maestro... better, cheaper, handmade. this is all BS. and buying brushes online when you need a good point is not a good idea.

It’s not a review, more like a bad 5 min paid promotion 👎🏻
