Marcory, a dynamic and bustling district in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, embodies the perfect blend of modern urban living and authentic local charm. As one of the most central and sought-after neighborhoods in the city, Marcory is especially notable for its significant population of expatriates and local white residents, many of whom are Ivorian nationals either by birth or naturalization. This unique demographic aspect gives the area a distinct identity within the city. This and more is what we explore in this video.

Marcory stands out as one of Abidjan’s most cosmopolitan neighborhoods, with a substantial portion of its residents being expatriates and local white individuals. This demographic includes both long-term foreign residents and Ivorian citizens of European descent, reflecting the historical and social diversity of Côte d’Ivoire. Walking through Marcory, it’s impossible not to notice this vibrant blend of cultures, with expatriates running businesses, shopping, and engaging in daily activities alongside their Ivorian counterparts.

A closer look at the apartment buildings and cars reveals that much of the neighborhood is home to white residents. This population not only enriches the cultural fabric of the district but also reinforces its reputation as a global neighborhood at the heart of Abidjan.

The district’s significant white population, many of whom have deep roots in Côte d’Ivoire, plays a central role in Marcory’s character. While expatriates bring an international flair, the local white residents—Ivorians by birth or naturalization—reflect the area’s rich colonial history and its evolution into a modern melting pot. Their presence is evident not just in residential areas but also in businesses, schools, and social spaces, contributing to Marcory’s reputation as a welcoming and thriving district.

Whether you’re a budget traveler or someone seeking luxury, Marcory has something for everyone. The district boasts an array of accommodations, from affordable guesthouses to stylish hotels with top-notch amenities. Its accessibility and lively environment make it the preferred choice for tourists on short visits. Staying in Marcory means being at the center of action, with easy access to shopping, dining, and entertainment options.

One of Marcory’s greatest advantages is its strategic location. As a central hub, it connects effortlessly to other parts of Abidjan, making it ideal for both residents and visitors. From Marcory, one can easily reach the administrative district of Plateau, the luxurious Riviera neighborhoods, and the bustling Cocody Corniche. Its well-maintained roads and public transport options ensure smooth commutes, while its proximity to Félix-Houphouët-Boigny International Airport adds to its convenience.

Walking through Marcory, you’re bound to witness a thriving community of people from all walks of life. From expats running errands to locals managing their businesses, the streets pulse with energy and diversity. Whether you’re shopping in one of its modern malls, enjoying a meal at a roadside eatery, or simply people-watching, Marcory offers a snapshot of Abidjan’s dynamic urban culture.

For tourists, Marcory serves as the perfect base for exploring Abidjan. Its central location, combined with its rich offerings of food, entertainment, and culture, ensures a memorable experience. Whether you’re in town for business or leisure, the district’s vibrancy and convenience make it an ideal choice.

As the favored neighborhood of expatriates, Marcory showcases the harmonious blend of local traditions and global influences that define Abidjan. From its lively streets to its welcoming community, Marcory truly captures the essence of Côte d’Ivoire’s bustling economic capital.

Marcory’s diverse community is reflected in its culinary scene, which caters to both local tastes and international preferences. From street food stalls serving classic Ivorian dishes like attieké and grilled chicken to high-end, air-conditioned restaurants offering European and Asian cuisine, the area is a haven for food lovers.

During the evenings, the streets come alive with a vibrant nightlife, particularly popular among the expatriate and white Ivorian communities. Bars, lounges, and terraces are filled with patrons enjoying drinks, music, and conversation, fostering a unique sense of community and cultural exchange.

Do we have too many "Black" / African / Ivorian people living peacefully and prospering in Beirut, Lebanon as they( Arab/Lebanese people ) are enjoying in Abidjan ( Marcory Zone 4 ), Cote d'Ivoire( Ivory Coast ) in west Africa? Can an Ivorian citizen can get "naturalized" as "Lebanese citizen in Lebanon?
For your information, there are more than 200 000 Arab/Lebanese people living in Cote d'Ivoire, so making the largest Lebanese immigrant population on the African continent.
But the question is: Why these Arab/Lebanese people who flock in drove in Cote d'Ivoire about 6, 000 kilometers away from their homeland( Lebanon ) don't go to the nearest Arab countries: Syria, Egypt( north Africa ), Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria but come all over here in Cote d'Ivoire, a Black African country? What is stopping them to migrate to their other Arab "brotherhood" countries but come to the countries of people( Blacks) whom they consider "inferior" to them?

Don't listen to haters. Côte d'Ivoire is a land of hospitality that has different communities that have lived there since the early 1900s.

There are no white Ivoiriens. Those are foreign expatriates. West Africa is not multi racial. Just being honest.

why the sudden change of heart of ivory coast? lol
anyways, Ivorians have to make sure as they continue growing economically, that they don't become underclassmen in their own country to lebanese. they would never allow the same thing in lebanon,

This area of Marcory literally belongs to Lebanese and Hezbo la. We are annoyed with this because more and more Lebanese are immigrating to Ivory Coast due to the warr with Israel.

We hhate the way they consider and treat blaack skinn. But our government is extremely corrupt and rewarded by Lebanese to let them do whatever they want.

Ivory Coast hosts the biggest Lebanese community in Africa since 1982.

Without Lebanese, Ivory Coast would not have been considered a rich country in the west African standard. They provide jobs to us, they build build and own shopping Malls, they build and own beautiful buildings, they invest in factories and other capital-intensive businesses such as cocoa export. These do more for our country than many rich Ivorians or politicians. We need them.
