This already happened in New York, though their permits were WAY more expensive...look it I feel bad for everyone involved. I think they should reimburse those effected so at least it won't affect them so badly.

Wait! They are protesting by driving around and circles for 24h, wasting gas on their time, Uber drivers are still just driving around picking up people when they call drop them off...
I find it funny that taxs driver are not talking about how much money they really made over the past 20 years.. And the amount of write offs they do 🤣.( and they are always talking to a family member on the phone )

People want more then 1 Option.. And taxi drivers have a bad history of not picking up people for short or long distances,

Uber it is not the problem, it just a passing trend like so many others, however it will not last long. The really problem for the entire transport industry is AI.
How they are going to cope with the raise of AI and the self-driving cars in the coming years? I believe that the transport industry, in general, are going to take an enormous hit from AI in the few years. This is just the beginning of the end for the entire transport industry.

Just give them back the remaining balance. I don’t know how it works If per year etc. But if it is. Then just return their balance. I don’t have much sympathy for taxi drivers. Though I only use them Other then buses. I have stood outside with children and been refused because I wasn’t going far enough Still 10$ plus and I ALWAYS give a large tip. But that’s just wrong

Removing the taxi license is a good thing = less corruption bu those that sells them for inflated prices. But, the government need to compensate current license holders correctly. And offer robust transition plans.

If the owners was quebecois now there was no lyft and uber and now because most of taxi drivers are immigrant they just dont care they already working 10 to 15 dollors an hr immagine how much they guna work after bill 17 rules.they talking about green energy by bringing more cars on the roads instead of putting more public transport

Welcome to the future, all industries are going through a change right now, over saturation! Retail shutting down, food truck saturation, low wages for truckers, Uber type companies and taxi, etc etc.

Simple - the government should refund all the permit fees if this bill is passed.
