What Makes Darius Garland So Good?

Показать описание
Darius Garland played a key role in leading the Cleveland Cavaliers to a top 3 seed in the Eastern Conference for a large portion of the season before the Cavs dealt with numerous injuries. Garland's improvement from his rookie season has been remarkable, and a testament to how important it is to not give up on a prospect after only one season.

Darius Garland is making the double big man lineup with Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen seem like a real threat. Garland's unreal passing ability and exciting scoring prowess is among some of the best in the entire NBA, and if he can continue to grow alongside Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen, he could find himself as a threat for not just multiple All Star selections, but All NBA selections as well.

One of the low key qualities he has is that he knows when to attack and when to shoot from range. If the opponent has a taller rim protector you can bet the over on his 3s. If the other team is small ball you know he is cutting tot he rim. Sweet video

He's an ideal point guard for the modern NBA

Darius has ALWAYS had a strong basketball foundation as far back as elementary school. I've been keeping up with him since then. His father, Winston Garland, was an NBA guard, so Darius having a strong basketball foundation early on, in my eyes, due to his basketball background. His handles has always been tight, a great shooter, a great playmaker and high basketball IQ. I believe it was more about adjustment to the pro level than inefficiency. Every player has, had to, and will continue to adjust when they enter the NBA. once he adjusted, his efficiency improved. However, he's a very fundamental player.

DG’s Playmaking is truly insane I’m glad you dived into it and this was the best analysis I’ve seen of Garland. Great Vid!

His game is so nice to watch, he basically built the entire cavs offense last year. I think he’ll work well with Ochai Agbaji if they end up playing a lot together as both (hopefully) present a major outside shooting threat

Really interesting, well made video. The Cavs are really exciting.

Keep in mind Garland doesn't have spacing yet. His best catch and shoot three point shooters were Lauri and Cedi who both shot around 38 percent.

W Garland video, would be cool to see a video on Desmond Bane or on Jamal Murray/Michael Porter Jr to hype up the Nuggets next season

surprised to hear his TS is league average because when you look at the 2p%, 3p%, and ft, it's at 51/38/89 which is amazing, especially for a 6-1 guard

Garland-Mitchell is going to be BONKERS. Holy shit.

Remember his rookie year they said he wasn’t gonna be a good playmaker and needed to work on it? Now look at him, proving the haters wrong and is already one if not the best passer in the league

The Cavs run a 3 big man lineup with Lauri at the 3.

I wouldn’t say quietly. He can honestly have the best career of any young guard rn
