The easiest way to store my mats and keep the cover on them. I have a command strip hook medium size. I have it on the back side of the door. You simply place the mat the hook first and then the clear cover, it will fall into place every time.

The tumbler holder. I use a small pool noodle I cut 2 identical sizes. I placed a rubber band at the top and bottom to hold them together. Works good with cup/tumblers

I put the sticky part of the mat under the machine and lay the plastic on the door. Easy to position the plastic without touching the mat, and once you are sure, push down.

Thank you Angie for mentioning that smart vinyl can be challenging. For years I have thought it was just my failure. It has been one reason I have hesitated on upgrading and purchasing the maker 3.

Oh my gosh-the yardstick hack is a GAMECHANGER!! I had been using the arm of my office chair when cutting 12x24-a yardstick will work MUCH better!!😊

The heat gun and a
cardstock upside down tips were new and sound like good tips to me. Thanks 😊

Hubby bought pvc pipe, joints and pipe insulation to make my cup holder. Its awesome and cost less than $8 to make. We had enough insulation for more. You can also grab a pool noodle from dollar tree, in place of insulation, if you want to save more money.

I should try the yardstick. I've used the empty vinyl rolls underneath and they usually gers pushed off the table by the mat. Sometimes, I I put my brayer under and that works

Hi, sounds to me like the smart vinyl is the problem, not necessarily the different transfer tapes. I think I'll stick to my 12" wide vinyl.

Love the yardstick hack! My cricut is on a small table with not much area in front of it.

I saw somewhere else about putting the mat in the slot on the Maker to line up the mat and have been doing that a while now. It really helps me. I'm terrible at lining things up! I will definitely try the heat gun on the vinyl. Especially the smart vinyl. I always have trouble with that. Thank you for testing these out!

I use the sticky lint roller successfully, although sometimes it is too sticky and I have to dull it down. In fact, on the label of the roller it shows this hack!

Thanks for sharing these hacks Angie. Now I know what works and what doesn't. There are a ton of hacks out there, just have to find the ones that work for us. Or like Linda says stick with the tried and true methods. Either way have fun crafting!!
