This was insane to watch in person!!!

Thank you for the shoutout, I’m glad I got some decent footage for you this time. It sucks that these meets don’t allow spectators right now!

Almost no one runs the mile in Europe, particularly indoors. That's why the record was so old.
3:49 is outstanding regardless

You asked how many sub 4, I was like I remember him saying something like 58 in a previous video, so like 75-80... But wow I was surprised by facts.

Cameron Proceviat broke the National Canadian Mile record in this event too with 3:52.5, absolutely insane race

I've met Josh at UNM during a party once. Quickly struck up a friendship with this guy. Chillest and down-to-earth I've met since college 4 years ago. Our hometown could not have been more proud of his achievements, particularly when UNM (even Albuquerque) doesn't boast a whole lot of phenomenal sporting moments. Proud to be his friend.

Josh Kerr actually broke the UK 1500 record in this mile race. He's ranked number 2 this Season in the 1500 which he did in a mile race, it's incredible!!

He didn't negative split but as much as it seems cause the 1:56.76 was his first 809m, so his actual first 800m would've been ~1:55 low, so about a 3 second negative split. I noticed this generalization of 800m splits in some of your other videos as well (like Colin Sahlman's 3:58.8). Just wanted to point that out :)

Josh Kerr putting the Beast in Brooks Beasts. It is nuts how many people are breaking 4 these days. I think that Josh Kerr will run 3:27 high - 3:28 low depending how much they go for WBs this year. If it is a really special day maybe we will see even faster from him and others. Thanks for the video. Have a magnificent day!

I can't believe Bekele ran a 53.87 last lap when he won the gold in the 2008 5000 mts. Just crazy.

I think he and Ingebrigtsen can get close to 3:26. It would have to be a perfect race but I think it’s in his wheelhouse

I answer the question
Josh Kerr HAS NO CHANCE TO BEAT Jakob in one run.
But this is Sport and I will be rooting for it
And as always, best regards

Good to see a rivalry developing, especially an international one.

When I saw the title I thought it was a guy who was 39 who beat the world record for the mile age group record. But while watching the vid I found out it was a record that was 39 years old that got beaten. Fun fact I’m half European and have the same birthday as that guy and I’m also a 1500m runner

Coghlin ran it on a smaller track. Brendan Byrne Arena in New Jersey. Maybe the Vitalis/Mobile meet? A bit tougher to do. Most tracks at the time were 10 or 12 laps to the mile.

I’m really happy to see someone other than Nike dominating a meet. It’s good to know they don’t have a total monopoly on the market of spikes.
