Germany joins the Square Kilometre Array Observatory

Germany has announced that it will join the Square Kilometre Array Observatory, the organisation running the SKA. The country's Federal Minister of Education and Research, Bettina Stark-Watzinger, revealed this during a site visit of the SKA at Carnarvon in the Northern Cape. Germany has been assisting with the designs of some radio telescopes and will cover the cost of 16.
