Empowering Future Ready Students

Our video submission highlights Hillcrest students and their opportunities for authentic, flexible, blended, and self-directed learning. The theme of our video is, ‘Empowering students to be Future Ready!’

Students who run our PBSIS Store are involved in problem-solving with the principal and have many opportunities to use models in science. Teachers use different technologies, apps, and websites to give students access to enriching content at any time. Many teachers are incorporating flexible-seating and choice charts in their instruction. Our Twitter accounts allow teachers to share these experiences with the community.

The Hillcrest Technology Committee collaborated to find exemplary scenarios that show our commitment to, ‘Empowering Students to Be Future Ready!’

Our Student College program prepares 4th & 5th grade students to visit and perform at a senior center.

The Student Leadership Committee, which is Hillcrest’s version of Student Council, raised over 200 food items during our SOUPer Bowl
Community connection ‘Reading to Therapy Dogs’. Therapy dogs come to our school so students can read to them.
Guest professors from local higher education institutions visit and engage students in higher order learning.
