nice unintentionally made pulse rocket

Your oxidizer mix is clearly caramel sauce. I'm gonna eat it

That pulsing is known as chuffing, and it's caused by too low of a K/N ratio (the ratio of the burning surface area of the fuel and the area of the throat of the nozzle. Either decrease the throat diameter or increase the burning surface area. People saying it's a lack of oxygen don't have a clue how solid rockets work, the oxidizer is built into the fuel. (Edited)

Bro just made the engine of the V-1 flying bomb 💀

The NASA nozzle is a nozzle that allows an air flow to come out at supersonic speeds, they do it by converting a normal shock wave to an obliqua, but all that is calculated specifically for some conditions.
If I'm not wrong, that type of nozzle is called convergent-divergent (CD).

I once made my own model rocket engines. The more you try the more you realize they have it pretty much figured out, lol.

When doing the Laval nozzle you need to first calculate the flow of your burning fuel.

Laval nozzle is designed to accelerate burning mass constantly, using the fact that supersonic fluid accelerates when it expands. (this is why nozzle expands at the end)

The critical point of the Laval nozzle should correspond to a burning mass flowing at sonic speed. So in order to make it work, you need to calculate it first (calculate model), and then do build the nozzle.

I saw that video long time ago but I was surprised by the last run when you 3d printed the fuel in that tilting tank printer and due to which the rocket produced more than 140 grams of thrust along with those beautiful shock diamonds. Nice work man, keep it up.👍

Thank you for doing all that hard work and passion and putting it online ! 🤙🏻

Shuttle nozzles are also expansion deflection nozzles, not just a hole. It is to compensate for increasing altitude.

That pulse flame out reminds me of the problem we had with the V2. Maybe ask Werner?

I just want your channel to blow up so you make a ton of money and start getting some wild tools to work with on these projects. Like a metal 3D printer would be sick - but I’m pretty sure they are wildly expensive.

Fantastic
You start at the humble beginnings
Love it 🎉

If you want De Laval nozzle to work, you have to make sure velocity of the exhaust gas reaches Mach 1 in the throat of the nozzle (smallest cross-section area). Otherwise it's counterproductive.

This nozzle shape only works for ultrasonic propulsion, you need to make the hole smaller until the gas hits the sound speed (mach 1), only then you begin to make the hole larger, (thats why rocket nozzles are this shape, the gases exit at around mach 5), so the smallest hole that will give you the best performance is the one where the gases are ejected at mach 1
