I’m honestly anti helmets off.

I hugely enjoy the head to toe in plate armour aesthetic, in both fantasy and sci fi.

It’s why I love grey knights, black Templars and dark angels, they have those awesome knightly helmets.

When you remove your helmet, you gain plot armor

'If you give a machinegun to a medieval knight they'll really love it' was the line that i still remember from this video 😅

So the holy handgrenade of Antioch isn’t necessarily as anachronistic as it seems.

And the best part is that original Space Marines were literally children of aristocracy Emperor counquered when he unified Terra

I hate space marines without helmets. Your fighting other space marines let me give them my unarmored face to scope in on

Custodes have brilliant helmets and i never have them without them

The Shwarze Reiter in 16th and 17th century of the HRE were armored and wielded wheel lock pistols from horseback.

Nah, helmets off is the worst look for Marines. It makes them less cool, for one, but also it ruins their mystique and menace.
With the helmet on we cannot see their face, we cannot see their emotions or really anything human. It's the same with knights.

The having the identifiable human that he is talking about is one of the things that makes me not like space marines without helmets. I prefer them being part of the Imperium, but also being a separate existence. You have regular people and then these armored giants where you can't see any of their human features, so that makes them seem more something else.

The Götz von Berlichingen, a real world Knight, was blessed by the omnissiah.
He had a mechanical metal hand, because he lost his real one to an early field artillery.
You can still see the hand in a museum.

im with the minority with this one, don’t get me wrong, I LOVE when the helmets are on. helmet off tho, it gives a different perspective on the emotions of the astartes, letting you actually see the emotions of said astartes. I’m glad you’ll be able to choose in the game though, accessibility like that goes a long way!

"Most people don't know this, but knights were the first ones to use assault rifles on the battlefield"

Adeptus Astartes are nothing like humans

Calling a 40k space marine a human is like calling a tank a tractor

Yes, they're essentially aristocracy, and the god emperor's chosen angels, but they're not human, that's the entire point, they're super human. Humanizing them takes away from their established superiority.
