Dr. Parwinder Kaur - Techtrails - A journey across disciplines chasing biological mysteries of life

Parwinder loves that every day is exciting and different: discovering new things, meeting more curious minds and being surrounded by young visionaries all working and learning together.

Her journey started with a love for Science and Maths at school that led to a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Sciences with plant protection focus. This was followed by her PhD. Parwinder’s interest in genomics and gene editing led to her developing an innovative Translational Genomics research program that translates fundamental science into ready-to-use solutions across agriculture and medical sectors using new age technologies.

At DNA Zoo Australia Parwinder is on a mission to provide empowerment to unique Australian biodiversity facilitating conservation efforts for the threatened and endangered species. Parwinder’s research at DNA Zoo Australia is especially relevant today as they are part of a global team that is developing a new DNA test for COVID-19, which can provide faster and more detailed results than other tests.
