FDD EVENT | The Dragons and the Snakes: How the Rest Learned to Fight the West
Показать описание
March 10, 2020
*ABOUT*
The event marked the release of eminent soldier-scholar Dr. David Kilcullen’s latest book, The Dragons and the Snakes: How the Rest Learned to Fight the West.
Consistent with the National Defense Strategy, the U.S. is trying to focus finite resources on great power competition with China and Russia, while simultaneously addressing other persistent state and non-state threats. Dr. Kilcullen argues that these state and non-state adversaries are learning from each other, and developing new capabilities to oppose the West. What do we need to understand about this evolving and complex security environment? How should the U.S. and its allies respond?
The discussion featured David Kilcullen, member of CMPP’s Board of Advisors and former chief strategist at the State Department; Bradley Bowman, Senior Director of FDD’s Center on Military and Political Power; and Kori Schake, resident scholar and director of foreign and defense policy studies at AEI. Clifford D. May, FDD’s Founder and President, moderated.
