does this shark repellent work surfing?

I surf regularly in the Red Triangle around San Francisco. I always place a few drops of Dawn dish soap into my wetsuit pre session. It's environmentally friendly and apparently sharks hate the scent. Got this tip from a veteran boat cleaner in Florida who swears by it.

My friend uses sharkbandz to deter stingray too. She’s one of the only ones who haven’t gotten stung in the last few years she’s had it. I stick close to her 😆

I surf nsb(shark bite capitol of the would) no joke look it up but I wear it everyday just in case of the hope it does work but from my experience it doesn’t work and I have sharks bumping me off my board getting wrapped in my leash. It might work with sharks 2-4ft but anything bigger I wouldn’t trust it.

I use one and if it makes you calmer it will work to a degree.. its just a magnet and not a shark shield

I find that staying out of the ocean is the most effective method of avoiding shark attacks 😎

Magnetic charges attract sharks and then repel them, so any shark that senses this will come closer to investigate and then be deterred. Let’s just hope there aren’t any large sharks looking for a snack with others around not having this device lol

Sharks like to attack eletric cord because they also produce a large magnetic field. If it would work may it could have the opposite effect, making the curious.

Some sharks hunt by sending or detecting micro currents. Now i dont know where you live or what species sharks are there, but I wouldn't rely on it working, furthermore, I'd think it to add more danger.
