If you want a stronger grip and forearms, try towel pull-ups. Using a neutral technique targets
different muscles to help increase strength. Consider this variation if you find chin-ups painful on the tendons.

I just want to raise awareness when doing this, please grip the towel very firmly and make sure you feel sort of even pressure on all fingers. A couple of weeks ago I was doing towel pull ups, but both of my middle fingers were griping more than the others, and by the time I got to my 10th rep, they gave up a little and twisted side ways. Both still hurt a little bit and the right one got a big bruise as well. Stay safe, train smart 🤘

Rope climbs are the real best exercise no one does because most people are barely strong enough. Works the forearms just like this too.

For those who are not strong enough to do towel pullups, you can do towel inverted rows. Loop it over the gymnastic rings and adjust the height accordingly. Even towel curls will help you build strength. You can also use towels for tricep extensions or pushdowns. It's quite a versatile tool

Thanks for covering this! This exercise is very common in judo training for building grip strength and endurance. This and rope climbing have to be the most slept upon exercises to build forearms!

I am so glad to see this training technique because I play guitar and suffer from cramps when playing bar chords!! this exercise will make things easier for me as I get into shape and improve. I am going to looking for Indoor Rock Climbing Centres to help brimp improvements!!!

I do these all the time. I never use straps for deadlifts or any other exercise. Always recommend these. Properly underrated

Great idea! That will save me money on climbing rope. I have a history of joint problems so neutral is the way for me.
