Never played City Folk, but have always seen this in the background of my Smash matches, completely oblivious to the community still wondering about the mystery road.

Fun fact: Town & City is a stage that comes from Super Smash Bros for WiiU, which makes sense as most stages in that version are based on games on Nintendo home consoles, & since Animal Crossing City Folk was on Wii its fitting.
Anyway, I seen this road when I battle on this stage but didn't think much of it other than a fun transition when going from the village to the city & vice versa.
