I'm amazed at the fact that, even in a Starfield video, they managed to put 3min of Skyrim

Not sure if anyone will read this but for me there was a moment in fallout 3... I was like 12 years old and got my hands on the game, faked going to bed and was playing all night wandering through the wasteland listening to the radio and finding myself more immersed than anything I have experienced before, it was like I was exploring a real world somewhere else, a complete break from reality. I will never forget that feeling.

4:30 That's one of the mayor "wow" that i had when i played Morrowind, the fact that you can take a single coin from a table, a cup, bread, everything was touchable... that blow my mind, i still remember. And the fact that this feature were still developed in the other games of bethesda, other EOS, other fallouts... Keep going whit that philosophy!!

I still remember my 'step out' moment in Skyrim, seeing the beautiful landscape and mammoths falling out of the sky... just magical

I love how he talked about the step out moment. I can’t wait to see Star field cause nothing is prettier then space. I remember playing Skyrim and stepping out of bleak falls barrow and seeing the northern lights for the first time. That’s when I fell in love with the game

Seeing Bethesda recognize the importance of modding and our part that we played in extending the games' lifespan, even for a second, makes me feel hopeful for the future for multiple of upcoming games and our collaboration with the developers. So excited for Starfield and ES6.

Oblivion’s “step out moment” was the top gaming moment of my childhood

I remember leaving the vault in Fallout 3. Was really striking to me, as I used to live in D.C., will never forget the start of that game.

One of the best studios to ever exist. As a space enthusiast, words cannot describe how excited I am for Bethesda, of all studios, to create a space adventure.

The "two step out moments" has me so excited if they're anything close to exiting Vault 101

I still remember the first time I saw Skyrim. It was on Attack of the Show on G4, a year or two before it was gonna release. There was a guy talking about it, and he showed the iconic image of the Dovahkin looking out over the mountains. He pointed to a mountain way out in the distance and said, "You can climb that mountain!" And it just seemed so crazy to me, ahaha. I'd mostly played games like Pokemon or games where you just beat levels. Nothing with a full on open world to explore. I've played several BGS games since then but they still give me that same awe. I can't wait for Starfield!

Those "step out" moments are always great in the other games, and I'm pretty sure I understand why he said there's two of them. One is likely stepping out onto a planet's surface, seeing the landscape open up in front of you, just like stepping out of the Vaults and Doc Mitchell's house in Fallout. The other will be breaking through the atmosphere and seeing the vast emptiness of space, maybe a moon, space station, or gateway of some sort, or maybe literally nothing but a field of stars.

The ''step out'' scene he talks about is such a great bethesda trademark. The moment the prologue is over and the entire world is open for you to go anywhere.

This looks like a space game that will finally give us that feeling of serenity and wonder to compliment the epic battles. The crackly voice of the radio transmission, the ambiance of a barren rocky landscape under a night's sky, the mundane details like the labeling on the food packages... everything about this game footage and the way these folks talk about it makes me believe that this could be one of the most immersive and convincing worlds ever built into a video game. If Starfield is released before the cutoff date for the game awards, and it's joined by BOTW 2 to go along with Elden Ring, Horizon: Forbidden West, and whatever surprises the industry has in store for us, this might end up being one of the most stacked GOTY battles we've ever seen.

Step Out moments are arguably one of the coolest things I enjoy in both games and movies...just that moment of stepping out into a completely new and breathtaking world is enough to get me excited for the future potentials. People may generally agree that New Vegas is the better Fallout game, but I haven't really encountered a big step-out moment in that game quite like Fallout 3's prologue that saw us step out of a vault after many years into a big and giant wasteland ripe for exploration!
