I just read this chapter, I have been encouraged and blessed. I was never shown what it looks like to be a man. I learned how to hide in fear. If King David was called to stand in the gap and defend the people of Israel, am i just as called to stand and protect my own family.

Several weeks ago I was returning home in my truck when I saw a grown man standing on a neighbor's lawn while a teenage girl was on the ground with her feet in the air kicking the grown man. I stopped to ask the girl if she needed help. The man was bigger than me. The man explained to me this is his daughter and to mind my own business. I disrupted the altercation enough for the girl to get up and run to her home. The man was furious at me. I don't care how mad he was, as a father and grandpa, my intent was to protect a child that looks like they are being abused. Thanks Jim!
