AGENT X | UK GARAGE 2002 | RINSE FM

Artwork by Take Me Back Pirate Radio Archives. This was one off rare set from Agent X on London's pirate radio station, Rinse FM 100.3. Agent X were known for their UK Garage and early Grime productions from 2000 - 2009. They consisted of two members, who also went under several alias: Hazard, Mask, Starfox and Studio Gangsters. There first release was on Pure Silk Records (2000), then followed by their hit tracks "Decoy" and "Turbulence", released in 2001, on their newly launched record label, Heatseeker Recordings. These tracks were supported by name DJs like DJ EZ, DJ Master Stepz, DJ Fonti, DJ Slimzee and many other household names which thrust Agent X's productions to the limelight. "Decoy" and "Turbulence" were instant hits on pirate radio and on the dance floor. Decoy was also included EZ ‎– Pure Garage Platinum (The Very Best Of...). The following year Agent X were signed by Virgin where they did tracks like, Beenie Man Vs Agent X ‎– Feel It Boy (2002).

Agent X were very productive in transformation of the UK Garage sound to Grime. Releasing a catalogue of tracks on Heatseeker Recordings: Agent X ‎– The Vintage EP - "God Will See That", "Pele Riddim", "The Hustler" and "Crazy" (2003), Agent X ‎– Killahertz V.I.P / Crunch (2003), Agent-X ‎– "Turbulence 2" and "Powersource" (2003). Agent X ‎– "Deadlock" and "Recharge" (2004). Agent X ‎– Girls Play Too (The Riplash & Sus Mixes 2004). Agent X ‎– "Galaxy" and "Grimeclaps" (2004). Agent X ‎– Latino Lover (2005). The landscape of Rinse FM was changing with the recruitment of several high profile DJs, MCs and producers like: DJ Jason H (Back To 95), DJ Tubby (Planet Phat Records / Brain Dead Entertainment), DJ Rossi B & DJ Luca (More 2 Da Floor / Club Sidewinder), DJ Wonder (Dump Valve Recordings / Wonderland label), Macabre Unit (Macabre Unit Recordings), DJ Youngsta (FWD), Plasticman (Plastician (Terrorhythm Recordings)), JonE Cash & Black Ops, DJ Leona H, Close Quarters (The Riddler / DirtyDropOutz), Uncle Dugs, Durrty Doogz (Durrty Goodz (Boyz In Da Hood)), Riko Dan and many others.
