Here's a quick preview of the coming 2014 Aviation Day at Paine Field. Historic Flight Foundation is scheduled to fly their B-25D Mitchell "Grumpy" which is the oldest flying B-25 in the world, their D-Day veteran P-51B Mustang "Impatient Virgin?" their Supermarine Spitfire Mk. IXe, and their recently restored DC-3. Likewise, Flying Heritage Collection has their B-25J Mitchell in the markings of the 490th Bombardment Squadron - the most accurately restored B-25 flying today - and their P-51D Mustang "Upupa Epops" and P-47D Thunderbolt "Tallahassee Lassie."

So that was the one originally restored by the Champlins{ I hope I spelled that correct} were they had to switch the wings with the Dora at the Air Force museum. The other long nose that is flying around is the German made reproduction. Yeah, maybe if they do find one in the Russian woods. That's were the short nose was found. Or in the bottom of a lake. Like the rest of the recent discoveries.

But what of my favorite Fw, the D9 or "DORA" will that plane be making any flights this year, or is it considered too valuable to fly?
