Just bought a used mill w/ the same power feed, mounted horizontally.

Had to remove it to protect it while moving & placing.

Had a heck of a time getting it to not make horrendous gear mesh noise.

Ended up shimming the horizontal adapter mount so the gears would contact at an angle.

Power feed is quiet, but it's noisy as heck when I hand crank it.

Any thoughts?

I also don't like how the adapter's mounted/ in the way; thinking about designing something cleaner.
