2017 M109R - Over 80mph the M109 wakes up, especially if it's velocity air ramming. I don't use anything but a factory paper air filter though so that 80mph would be 60 mph with a pod filter. Its like a high speed power band as the air-box finally starts pressurizing the paper filter element. Place a 50mm diameter hole in the side cover's and see the results.

My 109 pulls my arms out of socket top to bottom of gear-box, but as a previous poster said the 109 should get waxed by the Hayabusa every time. I recently bought my 109 and really wish I had gone another direction. I am 60 with a lot of health problems and my legs are much weaker than they used to be. When I take the bike out it’s like taking a dragon out of it’s cage. It’s not an easy bike to ride and seems not to like going less than 80 mph. It a huge bike. Beautiful bike, but too much for me at my age...

The only reason the M109 kept up is because there's a 600 pound dude on the Hayabusa.

Good rider is 3/4 of the equation and nitrous will make up the rest.
All fairness the m109 is super quick in the cruiser world but it’s hard to understand just how stupid fast a bone stock zx1400/hyabusa really is. If you’ve never experienced a liter bike or in this case liter plus kind of power it’s impossible to understand how much difference there is between a truly fast cruiser and stupid fast super sport/hypersport . It’s like trying to explain the affects of ecstasy try all you want but you’ll never get the person asking to understand when they experience it the first time it’s going to be 1000% wilder than they ever could’ve imagined it would be.
Can’t really tell but If the 109 won it was 1/8mi track and the busa was having trouble or inexperienced rider. Definitely not a common occurrence.
