As a species, the human race has learned an awful lot over the hundreds of thousands of years that it's existed. In fact, it might even have forgotten some of the things that it used to know! There are many examples of stunning ancient technological achievements all over the world, and in some cases, we can't even begin to explain how our ancestors accomplished them. Let's take a closer look at a few now.

I've always wondered about how many of these ancient temples and statues were built for no other reason but "look what I made"

I just stopped by to find out the varying stages of "abandoned" there before now I just believed something could be abandoned or not abandoned!

Anyone that thinks stone and Bronze Age humans did this should go to your local Home Depot, buy a chisel, hammer and a piece of granite..once you fail miserably in chiseling into granite tell me how stupid you feel

The true ancients used the hardest stone to cut, build, & slowest to be weather worn! In others words, built to last a planets life time. Highly compelling.

If Academia can't get past what was taught 100 years ago, why are they "Experts"?

Yes, more and more people like us started to study these technoloogies of lost civilizations few years back already. Those big stones have traces of magnetite, which is used as a part of a technology of softenning stone before cutting it. You can find a sample of this stone melting process here. Some engineers recreated it. It includes magnetisem and a high current. And yes, previous civilizations knew how to 3D print long before us. ;) Leo (Arch Tech & Eng)

It’s interesting they will say “we found this tomb completely untouched by thieves” then they take all of the things out and put them in a museum for people to pay money to see them. It’s ironic they don’t think disturbing these burial sites isn’t considered thievery. Leave them alone.

No, the very ancient steel tools were sold by grave robbers for recycling.

Kinda makes you wonder if we're not taking things to seriously.

Someone wanted to build and they built big time. Ahead of time for this planet or maybe what was left or arrived. Definitely many statements to humanity.

We live in the world when technology becomes the most and integral part of our lives. 20 years ago, we would walked a kilometer to work everyday, now we think its too far without transportation. Rome was not built in a day, even Taj Mahal was built for more than 20 years, the great wall for more than 2, 500 years... why do we supposed they used better technologies than us? They were just tougher physically and mentally. Let that sink in.

6:41 we can make that assumption because it's physics and engineering problem, not just an Archeological one. There was a giant flood for gods sake. Large enough to make the sahara a desert. It would have washed away and burried a lot of stuff.

They did have Iron tools....it was shaped from meteorite over the years, limited in number and a high value material for such uses - drilling/cutting

Bronze tools embedded with black sands . Hammer forged with the bronze tool being made first then the tips, blades, cutting surfaces having black sands heat hammered into the surfaces. Black sands would have been known about through gold panning and would have been plentiful. They contain, zirconium, diamond, tungsten etc... All hard minerals that can cut through the hardest stone.
