it's kind of like if you just asked kids what they think would be cool in a skating game and then were forced to put all of those discrete mechanics in a game. It has realism where it shouldn't, and is game-esque/takes away granular control where you need it most. That's the vibe I'm getting. Like the auto-ollie on the curb immediately gave me a bad taste in my mouth.

Also why does only THPS balance meter feel good as opposed to every other game's sense of balance?

The feeling that I get from this game is that the team still needs some time to figure out what route they want to follow. Having a realistic/complex control scheme when they're supposedly trying to be arcade, non-realistic visuals but lots of realistic lightning and stuff, the whole park feels super plain texture-wise still... There's a design problem there to be solved, it seems.

It's just a demo and I get that, but I don't think it should be launched in less than a year from now.

I think the reason the art style is so jarring is because they've went with a cartoony art style but the lighting and post processing is all acting like it should in a game with realistic graphics so it's sitting in an unsettling middle ground

Visual design needs more contrast. Makes it look very washed out, which just doesn’t jive with the crazy color pallet. Especially if you’re meant to be cruising through the levels at Mach 3, it’s hard to identify things.

The gameplay feels like it needs a lot more time in the oven. It’s just weirdly floaty, maybe the gravity needs turned up when you’re not in boost or something. Also just watching you play it doesn’t seem very responsive, not sure if it’s due to net code or just goofy input handling or what. But if the big appeal is live multiplayer map building, that input feel needs to be as tight as possible

Wish any other skate game used thps controls, was never a fan of how skate played and it seems every skate game since uses that control scheme...
