I'm quite excited for this project. Except for not redesigning the clover-leaf at MN36 to a partial clover interchange or full interchange, I think everything in this project is perfectly designed. A lot better designed than other recent MNDot projects in the north metro.

The northbound express lane double lines continue right up to Little Canada exit ramp? When the 694 ramp is backed up, those in the express lane are going to have to cut across the middle lanes slowing others down and come to a stop trying to merge in...

In all reality (not to pin point a single person) "adding another full lane" may not be the most effective approach for a reconstruction of the corridor. Many different factors go into the design and reconstruction of a corridor especially one as large as this one. Safety (clear zone for cars that go into the ditch), space (in a high population area), money (construction, maintenance, etc.), design (interstate standard), usage (trucks, high volumes), etc all have pieces that go into consideration and design aspects. With that said, technically MNDoT is adding another lane also known as the MNPass. I agree that it was a bad choice to use our own MNPass system versus a more nationally based system such the EZPass (different story), however this 4th lane can actually be used by anyone outside of the restrictive times as shown on the entrance sign (usually a 4 hour window in the morning and/or evening rush hours). I think that MNPass is a great option as well not only can it be used to offset such large construction costs for people who pay into MNPass but it also will help promote car pooling (free), and for people to use metro transit systems which can cut down on the number of cars and ultimately emissions on the road.

I'm astonished for a major project like this that the DOT is not adding another full lane of traffic usable by all commuters. The MNPass lane is simply another road tax to grab more revenue from productive citizens trying to get to work. So basically we are left with a 3-lane road like we have today. Perhaps someone at the DOT could learn a lesson by observing the I-94 stretch between downtown Minneapolis and I-694. Five lanes of unrestricted traffic that can accommodate the flow of vehicles

So the bottleneck that forms from the on-ramp to 35E from downtown St. Paul is not going to change? They're not adding another lane after all of this? Does anyone from MNDOT actually drive this at 4:30pm Mon-Fri??!!

Can someone explain what's happening to Mississippi Street between about Westminster and Phalen Blvd.? A lot of area residents use that route to get downtown.

On this video it showed no bridge for the Gateway Trail to be on. Currently the trail is just south of the Arlington Avenue bridge (and uses the old steel railway bridge). I guess that MN DOT finally wised up and quit wasting our money on a bike trail that nobody ever uses. Now if they would just do the same with the HOV lanes and light rail lines, we would be getting some place!

I agree Doug, and more MNpass lanes are on the way. The state will be forcing us to all own a MNpass. The electric pass that only works in Minnesota; how inconvenient for out of state visitors from Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia and West Virginia that may already own a EZpass. Bad for state tourism. The MNpass is useless for Minnesotans to go traveling with.

Pepsi and Allied Vans must have chipped in a bit of cash, huh? I counted at least 4 Pepsi trucks and a bunch of unmarked Allied Orange trucks!

Where are the unsignaled lane changes? Where are the frantic multi-lane crossing exits? This video isn't realistic at all!
