How is it possible to get this attached to a character you only hear speaking for 15 minutes!? This game is truly special!!

Croteam told one of the most thought-provoking and beautiful stories I've ever seen - through emails, snippets of old texts, audio logs, and debates with a conflicted A.I. - over a foreground of simple but elegantly designed gameplay with a gorgeous soundtrack. My appreciation of humanity - and my capacity to question it - have grown because of this game.

This is the only game that I can sanely say, has ever made my happy that humanity exists.

11:34 My best friend who introduced me to this game a few years ago passed away today. It was very sudden and unexpected, and all I can do is think about this game and what it stands for. It's so symbolic to me now.

Is anything more tragic than hearing Alexandra lose her best friend, and the way she approaches the event, logically.

You have to think the Horizon Zero Dawn writers listened to these. Drennan's love for everything that exists, her profound belief that life is worth living, and her enormous sacrifices in order to preserve civilization, remind me so much of Elisabet Sobeck. The game's perspective on death also.

8:50 "I Look at this Inert Shape" tape sounds a lot like what a first-time parent would ponder of his soon-to-be born child. Really emotional stuff

Listening to her while just staring at the beautiful scenery was my fave part of the game. The beautiful music makes it perfect

8:50 gets me every single time. I can't believe that a game so perfect like this exists.

It has been so long since I played this game, but I still comeback to listen to the capsules. I can't wait for the sequel!

I really appreciate this game for its honest depiction of humanity. It does not insist that humanity is perfect by any means, though I think it gives something that a lot of people overlook nowadays. I see more and more people fall into a mindset of raw misanthropy. People often obsess over the negatives of the world and of humanity and rarely take a second look at the kindness and brilliance. It is easy to notice the person who kicks a homeless man while down or abuses their pet dog, but the person who gives that homeless man a meal or heals the abused dog go far less noticed. For all the deliberate misinformation in the world which leads to demonstrable harm of humanity and the earth, there are countless people who are fighting back against it.

8 year old video but just getting ready to play the sequel

I don't think I've ever cared as much about a fictional character as I do this one. Especially with the time capsules starting at 11:33. Obviously this is because it's true in the context of the lore, but it's like just watching humanity die and feeling utterly hopeless to do anything about it.

11:34 - My Best Friend Died Today - really gets me eveyrtime i hear it, because it explain how pointless and valuable is our existence for other people. How specific is one single human life, could be your dad, your mother, your brothers and sisters or your friends. This has a very high meaning when you think about it. It's the meaning of death.

Would love to see these time capsules broken-down, discussed and debated in school.I wonder what kids, teens and young adults would make of it, what it will make them feel.

i think i'm halfway through the game and i can't do it. i start crying everytime i listen to these capsules. i need to discuss this with someone. it's so undescribably beautiful and deep.. more than anything i've experienced in my boring life. i fear that when i finish this game, i will fall into one of the worst voids any game has ever given me. definetely life changing

Only one that really got to me was 13:35. The amount of despair in her voice was just chilling, it really drove home the reality of the end of the world and the end of her life. That's voice acting you simply don't hear in any other game.
