Rishi Sunak is expected to make a statement outside No 10 at 10.30am before heading to Buckingham Palace to resign as prime minister. Starmer will then see the King, return to Downing Street and speak from its steps at about 12.20pm. He is expected to appoint the cabinet in full today. Sir Keir Starmer will address the nation as prime minister this afternoon after winning a Labour landslide like Tony Blair’s in 1997.

That's British elegance at its best. Mr Sunak surely has lost the people's support, but at least he knows how to say goodbye proudly and honorably. I wish him and his family all the best.

It's truly pitiful to compare this gentleman with the clown we Spaniards have as a prime minister, drowned in corruption and in cahoots with the worst scum in Spanish political cadre just to keep him in power. Spain at its lowest.😢

Comment section is an embarrassment, littered with people throwing mud at a man that has achieved more in the last few years, than many will achieve in a lifetime. While we may disagree in politics, we have to see that neither side is the enemy, but someone with slightly different views to us. Our core values as a nation are broadly aligned, and this is still one of the best countries to live in in the world, I think the best, minus some of the lazy chav’s that are glued to their phone and parrot everything they’ve heard on TikTok as if it’s fact.

I congratulate President Putin on the downfall of Rishi Sunak and his party, and tomorrow Macron, Biden, and others in the name of Jesus, Amen.

You almost kind of feel sorry for Rishi Sunak for losing the election! Then you realise why he and the Conservative Party lost! Then you think Na! You are just glad they are now out!

Reform in immigration and firing his half-Mauritian secretary Suella Braverman, backfired his popularity.

He may have lost the elections but has won in life. Having a partner who holds his hand through thick and thin!

Disagreed with our Prime Minister on so many things…but found him the most technically interesting person when it came to actually proposing and implementing novel ideas during the COVID epidemic. I think the UK’s Conservative Party pays today for its stance during the COVID epidemic : they followed the motions but not at all with the enthusiasm Brussels and « the global elite » wanted them to. Who trusts KS?
