I met Scott’s Dad, Bill, in 2007 just after Quicksilver was finished at the 60th Anniversary of Yeager Airport in Charleston, WV. It was build in Lewisburg, WV at Greenbrier County Airport. Bill was a joy to talk with and was a master aircraft metal man. Quicksilver was built from parts from 200 different Mustangs. Bill was also a stunt Pilot and sadly passed away in 2013. Our Unit, 167th FG, back in the 50’s had over 25 P-51’s and was the very last USAF Unit to fly the 51 retiring them to the Boneyard in January 1957. My Dad was in our Unit when it was activated during the Korean War. I remember watching them taxi in from flying as a kid when my Dad would take my brother and I to our Unit for a visit. Many years later my brother and I served in our Unit and we both retired in the 1990’s. Quicksilver is such a beautiful aircraft and a pristine restoration ! Thank You for a great video !
