Показать описание
On Tuesday 8th October 2024, the CORALIS project hosted a webinar titled “Synergizing Industry: Mobilizing Stakeholders for Effective Industrial Symbiosis Implementation”, focusing on effective strategies for engaging stakeholders in different stages of Industrial Symbiosis (IS) implementation.
Johannes Lindorfer and Melanie Knöbl from the Energy Institute of Johannes Kepler University Linz (EI-JKU) discussed with Marianna Kambanou from Linköping University the challenges and solutions for effective stakeholder engagement in Industrial Symbiosis (IS) projects. The webinar drew on the experiences of the CORALIS project in Linz (Austria) and Izmit (Turkey) and research to explore real-world case studies and provide a roadmap for overcoming common challenges in stakeholder mobilization.
Key issues explored:
-Strategies for engaging stakeholders in the planning, execution, and optimization phases of IS projects
-Challenges to stakeholder mobilization and practical solutions to overcome these barriers
-A stakeholder mobilization roadmap to navigate the complexities of stakeholder engagement and ensure successful IS implementation
In particular, the experts highlighted the enabling conditions for successful collaboration, including the identification of mutual benefits and the building of trust over time. The essential role of government in creating an enabling environment, including through regulatory frameworks and subsidies, was also highlighted. Several methods were described to make this collaboration a reality, from workshops and site visits to PPPs and communication campaigns. The webinar highlighted the importance of stakeholder mobilization for successful implementation of industrial symbiosis. By using a structured approach, effective communication and a variety of methods, stakeholders can work together to advance circularity in a wide range of situations beyond the two specific cases presented here.
