I would love this. I’d feel good paying my taxes on an ongoing basis but I control how much I give to the government, not some armed, unelected bureaucrat.

It's not new ..we used to do this.. one of the world wars stopped it.. it might be changed in some way but the fair tax act is something my father told me about over 30 years ago..

It’s a consumption tax…unfortunately if groceries, medicine, and daily pens are included it’s an undue burden on the lower and middle class

30k salary spends similar on consumer goods as a 100k and 500k

Also, all taxes are shifted to consumers thus called the “sales tax”. And corporations contribute to avoid their fair share as the fair tax as an end point only tax (taxing items only at the retail level)

Needs a lot more work to be “fair “

Well if biden said its not fair and i hear trump mightve said it must be true lets make the the tax system fair. I would love no property tax on my home.

Fair tax is not good for lower income earners and it's not fair either.

Oh yeah that would work out for the poor people they don’t have any money so they can’t afford to buy anything so I guess they wouldn’t be paying taxes just like they are now but the rich people who have lots of money and buy lots of things they’d be paying their fair share finally

The really rich people are never going to pay taxes like the rest of the citizens...they typically have a cadre of attorneys on staff to deal with that.
