Thank you so much for putting this content up. It was very helpful, especially the part where you mention how you design everything around the body text. I do that too. As much as I'm tempted to just start designing, I think it's best to take a look at Human Interface Guidelines and Material Design for things like Side Bar, Tab Bar, Navigation Bar, Status Bar, Search Field, etc. for best practices depending on which devices, ios or android devices we're designing for.
