So the GPU loses about 2-3 percent? I find that acceptable.
Lovely idea by Beelink.
Still not 100% happy about having the GPU completely unprotected by the elements, but the internal PSU in the dock is superb, as long as it is a good quality one.
Thanks for the video.

This is a really cool idea. It has way more upgradeability than a gaming laptop since you can just swap in a better gpu. I can definitely see this making a lot of sense for people who don't want to put together a PC.

This thing is pretty cool, It’s fun to see how much performance you can squeeze out of such a tiny package

I do like the way the dock looks, it reminds me of the PC engine briefcase.

Doing this with a laptop would make even more sense.. Laptop at school or work, you come home and plug your laptop into the dock and got a gaming machine.

You could get one of these mini PC’s and the dock, plus a used 3080 from CEX for less than a grand! It’s a high end gaming PC for the price of a cheap pre-built with a 12400f and a 4060. This thing is genuinely revolutionary!

I’m such a fan of Beelink. Bought an SER5 for use as a home server and an SER7 for a work PC. Both running Linux with fantastic performance.

its an amazing rig where you can just swap new gpu when needed without the hassle of disassembling your case every single time. Also easy to clean

Pretty crazy what modular mini PC's can get up to these days.

The Dock is interesting, but I would like to have the mini PC on the desk and the dock on a shelf nearby connected with cable. Having it all connected by the dock, you might as well build a mini PC.

Beelink also sell a version with Core Ultra 7 and Core Ultra 9, and apparently they're a big step up in performance and thermals from the Core iX series.

Something that needs to be considered with mini PC's is fan noise (and upgradability); yes, if you put a box together yourself with the same performance it'll be bigger but it'll also a lot quieter.

Remind me of the MinisForum EliteMini B550 which I never got chance to get/couldn't afford. One of the bonuses there was it was a fully socketed standard desktop CPU
