The alternate version, same-day-edit of The Princess Bride' rejected ending.
This alternate ending for Rob Reiner's 1987 classic shows what would realistically happen while getting a rope cut on you… while climbing it up a cliffside.

CHAPTERS:
00:00 - Intro Titles
00:10 - The Chase
00:31 - Money Shot
00:51 - Credits

Far more realistic this way, don’t ya think? Unfortunately, this ending would have clocked the film in around 20 minutes and because there’s no money in short films (believe me I know), we’ll have to suspend disbelief.

This amazing film, being a fantasy, takes many liberty’s. ROUS’s, 6 fingered men, surviving death, etc… But, some liberties travers even the plausibility of the fantasy world of the story. For example, Wesley spent years building up a resistance to Iocaine powder and just so happened to have some on him for example… oh… how convenient! Nevertheless, the most unbelievable part of this film is that a sick kid would listen to a love story instead of play video games. Regardless, we draw the line at the rope cut. He pulled down the rope, which means he was still hanging on it, and yet he grabbed those rocks and kept climbing? COME ON RENIER!!

“You see, there’s different kinds of dead: there’s sort of dead, mostly dead, and dead as hell. This fella here, he’s, um, dead as hell. That means a much shorter film - and lots less insufferable whimsy. Everybody wins!"

Mr. Clements, claim your prize.
