This is a nice one, but I feel like JLC really nailed it with the 2020 redesign - the Mariner and the Memovox. I haven't seen either of these on your channel - have you not seen them on the secondary market much?

I get the arguments otherwise, but I can’t help feeling that I’d be happier with screw down crowns on this model. Apart from that, I love it! Would I buy it . . . no! The risk of something catching a crown (made more likely by that fact it doesn’t have crown guards), and popping that crown out and potentially flooding the case, would be too great for me personally, considering the price-point of this watch. Ultimately it’s a sports watch, so it has to be capable of getting dunked, intentionally or otherwise!

Only downside is the winding.
Crown is small and not easy to hold and it takes ages to wind it up

That could be my new watch in black if it had screw down crowns, but I've already had a watch suffer a Florida rain incident. It's crazy how one design choice rules it out.

They need to either shrink the case or get a bigger movement. Really they should update the movement AND make a smaller option as well.

Is the bezel a rotor click, or friction? No screw down crowns 😢

Seriously considered this one, but it is just too big. It would look so much more classy and the movement would look more appropriate if it was 39mm.

I’m ok with non screw down crowns. I wouldn’t be battering this around the Great Barrier Reef at nearly £7-8k. You’d probably do that with a £700 Seiko 200m diver.
I’ve always loved this. It’s one of my grail watches. That and a vintage memovox. Oh and a Master Quartz. And a Squadra hometime with the black coated bracelet. Steel case and black dial. Yup. I’ve got a problem. And I’m OK with that.
