Pedro Fire forces evacuations in Mariposa, Tuolumne counties

Hundreds of crew members are trying to halt a wildfire that officials say is threatening structures and powerlines in Tuolumne and Mariposa counties. The Pedro Fire started around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday near Arbolada Drive in La Grange by the Don Pedro Reservoir, Cal Fire said. Evacuations in both counties are in effect because of the fire. Cameras from AlertCalifornia on Wednesday show hazy skies where a heavy plume of black smoke first appeared Tuesday.
