I figured it out ! before you enter ForelHost you should 'pickpocket' captein Valmir outside for the dungeon key. If you're like me, you just wondered about here found a dungeon and just slew the guy in front. Thing is he's part of a quest so you should keep him alive, when you clear the dungeon and go back outside, you overhear him talking to some other guy. At this point you get a quest update, which is to slay the impostor 'captein Valmir' ... Now you get to kill him :D Hope this helps.

If you picked the lock on the door to the well, the puzzle will not move, simply save when you're next to it, then load that save. It should work after.

you have to pass through the libary to get to the spikes blocking the way to the door. when you pick up the claw the door opens. the libary is the area with lots of bookcases and shelves.

I put a book on the place were I got the claw, (don't know if it effects the door or not but it seems logical since it was on some sort of pressure pad) solved the puzzle then tried the door - as expected, nothing. I then saved and loaded and as if by magic the claw was already in the door and it opened. Try it, might work for you.

you can still get to the shout (storm call) easily by jumping up the arch, don't even have to go inside unless you want Rahgot's mask which increases your stamina by 70 points. i just went inside to get the ancient nord armour. The door worked for me before but it on my recent playthrough it doesn't.

In what part of the dungeon is the claw? Cupen or.

For the ones who cant open the door... there is 2 pedestals on the map wif a picture over then and pressure buttons... those butons must be pressed, it just opened after I placed objects over then to keep the buton down.

This is for 360: first time i put in the combination the rings didnt move, after i reloaded the autosave (forelhost refectory) it worked. I did kill the guy at the begginning before entering forelhost

Found a solution. Set the puzzle so that all the circles only need one turn, then go back to the previous area and reenter. Set the correct solution and use the claw.

I'm sorry to all of you guys having problems with these doors, i do not know how to solve this problem if you are on a different platforms, all i can suggest if the combination dont work is to look on the bottoms of your claws and see if its the same. Sorry that i cant be anymore help guys.

well i can at least turn the rings inn correct orders and the door will not open... i saw it was at least 2pictures over the trap buttons. Is there 3inn tottal maybe?

I have the same problem, how did you get the rings to move ?
