imagine you realise the weight is too heavy mid rep so you go back up and rerack it and then you see three white lights 🤣🤣

Unracking that weight even in a monolift is a feat itself. But yeah that depth was a third of a rep at best

Equipped lifting is no joke, but this kind of stuff is what makes it one.

I’ll never forget watching Jimmie Pacifico squat 1000+ at 220 with ease. Now this is what geared lifting came to.

High as a kite but holy sh!t imagine supporting almost 600kg on your back without dying

That moment when you realize 600kg is less than 3 times bodyweight.

Like everyone says, even unracking that weight is an incredible feat of strength but you can't call that a squat.

That lift was high as a kite - but crazy effort and strength nonetheless, bet he could do 550 to proper depth.

I’m a massive fan of equipped lifting and will defend it to the fullest, but this is straight up bs. Not a knock on Nathan coz he still had the balls to put that weight on his back, but this is why geared lifting has become a meme 😒

IPF single ply with actual standards can be pretty cool. But this… this is something else. It honestly sucks that powerlifting is so decentralized because some troglodyte can set up a tiny fringe fed with zero standards and as long as it’s posted on social media and the judges gave it white lights it’s a world record.

Like not to be that guy. But come on. Yes 595kg is insane. No I could not unrack it. But that *thing* is anything but a squat.

Equipped lifting checklist :
Morbidly obese guy ✔️
Laughable ROM ✔️

That might be the highest quarter squat in history.

Like most people have said, still a phenomenal feat of strength but that lift was seriously over 6in away from being to depth.

As a primarily raw lifter I actually like equipped lifting it’s cool to watch that being said I think the standards need to change I don’t blame the lifters bc I think even they know it’s high but these judges gotta be removed or have a meeting that clears things bc we’ve seen guys like chuck vogephol and vlad alzhov squat to a good standard hell Louie Simmons at an older age squatted better then these new age gear lifters but that’s just my two cents

While in 2017 in Arnold Classic Strongman they were walking with above 700kg...

The epitome of health and fitness. The man is squatting 500 lbs just rolling out of bed

I almost never am willing to say a squat is high from a front view, but my god.

I'm seconding that the lifter isn't at fault, but those judging deserve the trash talking they receive from this.

they just should have the "unrack" be its own lift.

To be fair, props to the guy for just un-racking that weight.
